Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation

If you have read my blog before, you will have seen that I originally purchased the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation (post here) after hearing so many people raving about it online. Unfortunately the foundation, as good as it was for coverage, completely dried my skin out more than anything ever has before. I took the foundation back to Charlotte Tilbury and they were fantastic and suggested I swap my foundation for their Light Wonder Foundation instead. They matched my skin to be shade 3 fair.

As you will see from my photos, the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation is a daily tint with SPF15.

The foundation has very light coverage to it which isn't the best for me when my skin is all red from my eczema. This foundation still seems to dry my skin out. Don't get me wrong it doesn't dry my skin out nowhere near as much as the Magic Foundation, but if I am having a bad eczema day, then this just seems to make it dry out even more.

However, if my skin is having a 'good day' then this actually works really well for me. It is perfect for when I am popping to the shops for a couple of hours where the foundation won't dry my skin out too much as it won't be on my face for too long. It gives a natural look with a nice healthy glow to your skin.

I would recommend this foundation for people with normal skin. My skin is very dry and this is just a little too drying for me, but for people with normal to maybe even slightly dry skin, I think this would work great for you. It is meant to be a hydrating foundation, so it may be a little too hydrating for those with oily skin but this is just an assumption.

Has anyone else tried this before? What did you think of it?

Love Lauren
xoxo

  3. I can get quite oily skin as the weather gets warmer so maybe this isn't for me! I like a light coverage base for summer though so maybe I might test it and see how I go! x

  6. This looks so interesting! I've seen a lot of people talk about this, but I haven't given it a go yet. I wonder how it would feel on combination skin?

    1. I am sure it would work on combination skin but if you are unsure, go to a Charlotte Tilbury counter and they will test it out for you xx

  7. That was nice of them to let you exchange, such a shame the second foundation didn't work for you either! I have really dry skin too so will definitely avoid this. Would love if you could check out my recent fashion post? :)

  8. I need to try Charlotte Tilbury so badly, how am I so behind? It's a shame as I think this one probably wouldn't be great for my skin type but I'd love to see what other foundations they have. Looks great, thanks for the review xx

  11. Wow this sounds fantastic! I think I might try this as I have oily skin so having something more drying would be better for my skin as I actually haven't tried anything from CT yet! Eeek! It's great that they also considered replacing your foundation as I never even knew you could do this! xx

    1. I would say to try the Magic Foundation for your skin, if you pop to a local Charlotte Tilbury counter they should be able to test it on your face for you to see if it works for you :) xx

    1. If you wanted to try it, go to one of their counters and they usually do skin matches on your face and you could see if it suits you. I wish I had done this myself for the first one I purchased xx

    1. I think the only way this would work on dry skin is if you use the Charlotte Tilbury magic cream and her primer first to give you as much hydration as possible. So annoying that it didn't work for me as I was so excited to try it xx

  23. I've never tried Charlotte Tilsbury's foundation range (yet..) but have you ever tried NARS All Day Luminous Weightless foundation? I've found its perfect for dry skin (as I suffer with it in winter) and leaves you with all day lasting, full coverage finish that feels like you're not wearing any foundation at all! It's heaven in a bottle.

  26. Oh no I had hoped to pick up the magic foundation, but my skin is being a bit difficult currently. Light Wonder didn't offer enough coverage for me, but the last time I tried it I was super oily and it slipped around on my skin. Will have to give it another go. Thanks for the tips!
