Time to start caring for the rest of my skin with Aveeno

Due to my severe, eczema prone skin, I am always trying a million different products to use on the skin on my face but I have never been bothered to look after the rest of me. I moisturise my body when I feel like it and pretty much use any product I see lying around.

My skin on my body can sometimes be slightly dry and can often suffer with eczema but I usually just ignore it. I have now decided it is time to look after the skin on the rest of my body as much as I do with my face.

For the last couple of weeks I have been applying Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising lotion on my body one-two times a day.

The lotion  is formulated with Shea Butter, oat oil and oat essence. It claims to be clinically proven to moisturise for 24 hours and soothe on contact, providing immediate, long-lasting relief for extra dry. irritable skin. It is also both fragrance and paraben free.

It is soooooo moisturising, when I apply it in the morning my skin still feels lovely and soft a good 7-8 hours later on. I only ever feel the need to apply it a second time when I have a shower on the evening. I have even found it makes my skin itch a lot less and really soothes my skin.

It is currently on offer at Boots for £3.63 for 200ml but is only £5.45 at full price.

If your skin isn't as irritated or dry as mine, they also sell other lotions for other skin types.

Has anyone else tried this before? What do you use to moisturise your body?

My Birthday List

Untitled #4

It is 2 weeks today until my birthday. I get ever so excited for my birthday each year but as time goes on it becomes more and more scary as the dreaded big 3 0 will hit me in just over 2 years. I only feel 18 still in my head.

Anyway, the joys of being grown up means I am pretty much using all extra cash to save for a house, so I can't buy the little things I want to try out or need in my life. I have therefore made myself a little birthday list of different beauty items I would love to have from my family/boyfriend which I will share with you today.

First of all is the Sensationail Starter Kit. I have been desperate for this for ages, I would love to be able to do my own nails and the thought of not having to paint my nails every single day makes me so happy.

Next are the lipsticks at the top of my wish list. MAC Vegas Volt which I seem to be the only person who doesn't have this and then the Charlotte Tilbury Amazing Grace. I don't have any lipsticks by Charlotte Tilbury as of yet, so fingers crossed I will do soon.

Also on the subjects of lips is the MAC Cherry lipliner. I have wanted a dark red lipliner to match my Ruby Woo lipstick for ages. I really do need to expand my lipliner collection as it is the one make up item I don't use as often as I should.

Another MAC product I want is the Mystery eyeshadow. I love eyeshadows and I literally can not get enough of them and just love to experiment with lots of different shades/looks. This is also why the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette is also on my list. I have the Naked 1, 3 and Smoky Eye palettes, so I obviously need number 2 to add to my collection too. To keep my eyeshadow lasting all day, I really want to try the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion too, I have heard so many good things about this.

I have two skincare products on my list. The Pixi Nourishing Sleep Mask which pretty much explains what it is in the name and the Lush Mask of Magnaminty which is another product with I feel everyone has tried but me.

Finally I have the Givenchy Live Irresistible perfume. I smelt this in the airport last year on the way to Lanzarote and I have wanted it ever since.

Has anyone else tried any of these products? What is on your current wishlist?

Easy tool to help clean your brushes

I have always deep cleaned my make up brushes by using a natural shampoo and cleaning the brush in the palm of my hands as I have explained previously in my post explaining how I deep clean my make up brushes here.

When browsing eBay a few weeks ago, I came across the BrushEgg, which is an egg shaped tool to help clean your make up brushes. Seeing as they only cost 99p each, I thought I may as well try one out. They come in either - lilac, purple, hot pink, pale pink, mint green, white or black. I obviously chose the hot pink.

It was delivered a couple of weeks ago now and I have been able to use it twice to see what my thoughts were on it.

It is so easy to use, you just need to put two fingers inside the egg and then clean your make up brushes as you would usually on the palm of your hand. The BrushEgg is split in to 2 sections, the front is to clean your smaller brushes and the rest is to clean the larger brushes such as your foundation and powder brushes.

I love it. It cleans deep inside my brushes, much more thoroughly than I was doing before and is such a bargain at that price.

If you are looking for a tool to help clean your brushes, then try this. You can buy it here for 99p.

What do you use to deep clean your make up brushes?
